Hank Garvin left us all too suddenly in April, 2015. Hank was an icon to the Northeast diving community for over three decades. In that time, he captured countless photos of his dive expeditions to the San Diego, the Andrea Doria and other wrecks frequented by the Wahoo and later under his ownership as the Garloo. Hank also collected artifacts from those wrecks.
Following his death, Hank’s family offered to donate all of his artifact collection to the NJ Maritime Museum. The museum has spent several months cataloging the collection and having the items appraised. The artifacts are now being organized into a set of displays that will be open to the public. to help preserve Hank’s diving legacy The display is planned to be unveiled by Ilise and Lee Garvin at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 23. They invite all of Hank’s diving friends to join them in this celebration of Hank’s life.
A tribute to Hank has also been created on a DVD by Maureen and Steve Langeven which will be playing
