NJ Maritime Museum Presentation – October 21, 2022

Dear Members,

Please join us on Friday, October 21st at 7 pm for this season’s first of our monthly presentations at Buckalew’s. To start this season off on a high note, we have Gene Peterson, one of our favorites, coming to speak to us. Gene is a member of the prestigious National Association of Underwater Instructors (NAUI), and has been teaching SCUBA since 1976. Gene is the founder of Atlantic Divers and has logged over 4900 wreck dives along the East Coast from Florida to Newfoundland. Gene’s exciting presentation will tell tales of numerous dives off Cape May which led to the discovery of what was originally called Max’s wreck, which they named after the dog of Capt. Bob Meimbresse, captain of the dive boat Down Deep. Gene and Harold Moyers eventually identified the wreck as the S.S. Montgomery. Gene will keep you on the edge of your seat as he relates tales on diving this wreck, including an encounter with a very large White Shark.

Complimentary hor doerves and happy hour drink prices are available starting at 6 pm, and the talk will begin at 7 pm, as is usual. Reservations are required, and a $10 donation will be collected at the door to offset our expenses. Active members will have until October 15th to reserve a seat for this presentation, after which date non-members may reserve any remaining seats.

Reservations may be made by calling the museum at 609.492.0202 or by sending an e-mail to info@NJMM.org

I hope to see you there.
