Please join us on Friday, November 10th, 2023 at 7 pm for our monthly presentation this fall at Buckalew’s. Our guest speaker will be Dominic Etzold, author of Reaping the Whirlwind: The U-Boat War off North America During WWI.
Dominic will be discussing the U-Boat war off the coast of New Jersey during WWI. The talk will cover the development of the U-Kreuzer submarines, UEII minelayers, and the American defenses put in place to counter the threat. Particular emphasis will be put on U-117 and the events immediately off Barnegat Light. Uniforms, medals, and artifacts from the period will be on display. This will also serve as the official book launch for his book “Reaping the Whirlwind: The U-Boat War off North America During WWI.”
Complimentary hor doerves and happy hour drink prices are available starting at 6 pm, and the talk will begin at 7 pm, as is usual. Reservations are required, and a $10 donation will be collected at the door to offset our expenses. Active members will have until November 3 to reserve a seat for this presentation, after which date non-members may reserve any remaining seats. Please note – THIS PRESENTATION WILL FILL THE ROOM AND THERE WILL BE A WAITING LIST.
