NJ Maritime Museum Presentation – March 3, 2023

Please join us on Friday, March 3rd at 7 pm for our next monthly presentation at Buckalew’s. Once again, our speaker will be Steve Nagiewicz, one of our favorites. Steve is a well-known New Jersey wreck diver and former charter dive boat operator, maritime historian and a Registered Professional Archaeologist. He is the author of: Hidden History of Maritime New Jersey about the tragedies of shipwrecks off the New Jersey Coast, Nagiewicz also co-authored with James P. Delgado the ROBERT J. WALKER. The History and Archaeology of a U.S. Coast Survey Steamship. Steve’s presentation will focus on Beach Wrecks and the changing shoreline of New Jersey. He will talk about many known beach wrecks and how storms and beach replenishment, and sea level rise/land subsistence is making them disappear. And finally, Steve will describe some of the “beach treasure” that has been sent to him by beachcombers to identify and interpret.

Complimentary hor doerves and happy hour drink prices are available starting at 6 pm, and the talk will begin at 7 pm, as is usual. Reservations are required, and a $10 donation will be collected at the door to offset our expenses. Active members will have until February 26th to reserve a seat for this presentation, after which date non-members may reserve any remaining seats. Please note – THIS PRESENTATION WILL FILL THE ROOM AND THERE WILL BE A WAITING LIST.

Reservations may be made by calling the museum at 609.492.0202 or by sending an e-mail to info@NJMM.org. If you make a reservation and find you can’t come, please call again to let us know so others can fill your seat. This is a courtesy to those on the waiting list and to Steve.

I hope to see you there.
