Please join us on Friday, February 10th at 7 pm for our next monthly presentation at Buckalew’s. Once again, our speaker will be Gene Peterson, one of our favorites. Gene is a member of the prestigious National Association of Underwater Instructors (NAUI), and has been teaching SCUBA since 1976. Gene is the founder of Atlantic Divers and has logged over 4900 wreck dives along the East Coast from Florida to Newfoundland. Gene’s presentation comes in two parts. Part 1 – Treasure Trove of Adventures. Every diver has dreams of finding treasure. Several treasure-wrecks lie below the sandy shores of our New Jersey coast. This presentation tells the stories of those wrecks that were hunted, some found and some still missing. Gold fever strikes as some lucky divers searched and found; some risked it all and lost. “If you don’t search, you won’t find”.
Part 2 Bottles of Treasure. This presentation reveals the true treasures of friendship kindled through discoveries of antique bottles, china, clay pipes and other unusual rewards uncovered beneath the sea waters along the coast.
Complimentary hor doerves and happy hour drink prices are available starting at 6 pm, and the talk will begin at 7 pm, as is usual. Reservations are required, and a $10 donation will be collected at the door to offset our expenses. Active members will have until February 3rd to reserve a seat for this presentation, after which date non-members may reserve any remaining seats. Please note – THIS PRESENTATION WILL FILL THE ROOM AND THERE WILL BE A WAITING LIST.
Reservations may be made by calling the museum at 609.492.0202 or by sending an e-mail to info@NJMM.org. If you make a reservation and find you can’t come, please call again to let us know so others can fill your seat. This is a courtesy to those on the waiting list and to Gene.
I hope to see you there.
